Airlines & Car Rentals:
Continental Airlines offers two or three (during busier months) non-stop flights from the the continental U.S. each week from either their Newark, New Jersey hub or from Houston, Texas (this one's a red-eye).
Delta offers a non-stop flight from Atlanta each week, and during busier months, also offers a non-stop flight from New York's JFK. Beginning October 2, 2009, Delta will introduce a second weekly flight rotation from Atlanta. The flight will depart Atlanta on Friday afternoons, arriving in Bonaire Friday evening, and it will return to Atlanta on Saturday morning.
Insel Air, a Curacao-based company, offers a weekly non-stop rotation on Saturdays from Miami to Bonaire and return. Insel Air also flies four times a week from Miami to Curacao, where easy connections to Bonaire are available.
It's always very important to check directly with your planned air carrier, as schedules are subject to change.
Vehicle rentals can be done either before you arrive (by contacting the agencies directly), or the Sand Dollar front office can assist with this after you arrive. To avoid disappointment in choice of vehicle or cost, we recommend you make reservations in advance of your arrival, if you are planning to come during the busier months (December through April).
International franchises such as Hertz, Budget, or Avis are available, or use local companies such as ABCar Rental, or Telerin (the company we personally choose to use). Simply email from your home location and pre-arrange for the vehicle of your choice, and a representative is normally at the arrivals hall with your vehicle or will take you to their offices.
